The winter can be so dull and boring during the snowy and rainy days. Especially after the rush of the Christmas and New Year season has passed. So much so, that Valentine’s Day can be a real pleasant change.

The celebration of Valentines Day is best enjoyed when gifts are exchanged between loved ones.

There is no age limit for Valentine’s Giving. Children and adult alike cherish the sweet thoughts and often sweet gifts.

We often give each other things like:

How about a gift certificate book filled with various coupons good for the whole year. They pick what they can and will use and can even share the rest of the coupons with others.

Do be sure you know what he or she likes first though. Otherwise it might sit around as clutter or be given to someone else that will use it.

Do you know what their favorite food, snack or candy is? How about a beverage even. This is as clutter free as it gets if they like what you buy.
But make sure if they are on a diet you get something they can eat.

Writing
If you have a person who writes a lot of letters or likes to write books then how about a complete Stationary set or a Writer’s Kit?
There is a lot of beautiful stationary available with envelopes, letterhead, maybe a pen set, and they come in a nice gift box or case oftentimes.

For writers you could get a writer’s journal and pens that are erasable. Just look where ever writer’s supplies are sold for ideas.

Scrapbooking
What if your valentines love to make photo albums or scrapbooks. Maybe they don’t have any but you know they love to collect photos or pictures of things.

Try getting a scrapbook or a complete scrap booking kit. There are all kinds of scrapbook themes. There are also many styles, colors and themes for photograph storage and viewing. Including some awesome Digital photo frames.

And Remember this…Depending on your beliefs about Valentine’s Day….Kids are right up there on the list of Valentine’s receiving.

You could take a child to a theme park or a zoo if you want to do something together. Spend time playing with them. Anything that you can do for an adult valentine can be done with a child except of course if you are only into Valentine’s for the Romantic end of it.

What gift do you choose for your loved one or special valentine when there are so many choices?

Questions that effect this are:

• How close are you and your Valentine?
• How long have you been together?
• days, weeks, months or years, minutes?

So with those questions in mind one might think… well how much do I spend if I have known this person for this long.

I have my own ideas based on a romantic type attitude and you probably have a few of your own. Here are some that you can choose from and most of them go great with a movie.

• cook or order a gourmet meal
• give a massage or pay for one
• indulge in a shared bubble bath or simply add some bubble bath to a gift basket
• Include some good wine with the evening

Flowers often work out great and it is good to add wine with this gift.
No need to buy an expensive bouquet.

Single roses are great and as I said just add wine or maybe perfume, cologne, bubble bath, stuffed bear or chocolates. Any combination will work.
You could even buy a live potted plant.

Food is great and can Spell out the language of love
Go to a popular restaurant…do book it in advance. Make sure your valentine likes the food you will be eating.
OR
Cook a meal or have it catered at home. Enjoy a good Romantic movie and or some music after you eat.

Make a gift basket that includes a romantic dvd movie, wine, a meal and cozy lighting.

Have a lunch on the beach or the park near some water. You could combine this with a Movie at the cinema.

Give someone a gift card for the workout gym or the health spa or even a hair salon a day early then say this is a pre-valentines day gift and the rest you will get tomorrow…then pick something more to do from this list.

For a budget that has to be carefully monitored try something from here:

• Candles premade or buy a a candle kit and make one
• A photograph album of you or a scrap type book with postcards and photos and mementos
  

A music cd burned on your computer with your favorie songs for each other or of your valentines favorite tunes.
